Daniel Mauricio Rico is an economist from the National University of Colombia and a Political Scientist from Los Andes University. He has been a Fulbright scholar for Master of Public Administration (M.P.A) and is currently a candidate to PhD of Criminology and public policy at University of Maryland. Daniel Mauricio Rico has worked as policy advisor for Drug Policy, Anti-Money Laundering and Against Organized Crime for the Financial Intelligence Unit of Colombia, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Justice and The Colombian National Security Council. As a consultant on Money Laundering and Criminal Economies analysis, his experience includes working with UNODC, UNDP, the US Department of State and multiple national and international banks.
