Analyst, Global Initiative against Transnational Organized Crime
Sarah joined the Global Initiative against Transnational Organized Crime in October 2021, and is currently working as an Analyst with a regional focus on the Middle East. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree specializing in International Relations from the University of Amsterdam and a Master’s Degree in International Affairs from the Graduate Institute in Geneva. Her main areas of interest include the political economy of drug trafficking, criminal governance, and the nexus between crime and terrorism. As a Dutch native she is particularly interested in the stronghold of the Moroccan mafia in Western Europe and the global market for cocaine. Sarah speaks English, French, and Dutch, and possesses basic knowledge of Arabic.
