Undergraduated in Social Sciences (University of São Paulo-USP, 2002), with a Master’s Degree in Political Science (USP, 2005) and Ph.D. in International Relations (USP, 2019), Tomesani took courses at Université Laval (Canada) and a research internship at Université de Montréal (Canada).
She is a member and one of the founders of the Network for Research in Peace, Conflicts and Critical Security Studies (PCECS) and Lepif (Laboratory of International and Border Studies and Research). Participant in the Brazilian Monitoring and Evaluation Network. She has been the executive coordinator of the Brazilian Public Security Forum and a consultant to the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) for matters related to public security, social participation, and data quality. She is currently the manager of the Illicit Markets Census Project at the Triple Border, an initiative of JHM Research with resources from PMI Impact.
