Mati Ombler is an advisor for the Estonian Ministry of Interior since 2021, aiding in the development of a policy to fight against organized and financial crime. Previously, Mati was the Head of the Corruption Crime Bureau between 2011–2021. Before that, he was a leading criminal officer in the Police and Border Guard Board and assistant prosecutor in the Prosecutor General’s Office. He also worked as an investigator in different Criminal Investigation Departments in Estonia since 1996. He was Vice-President of EPAC/EACN between 2017 to 2021 and a member of the Council for Official Ethics in Estonia between 2019 to 2022.
