Dr Leo S.F. Lin is a Senior Lecturer in Security Studies at the Australian Graduate School of Policing and Security (AGSPS), Charles Sturt University, and Co-Editor-in-Chief of Salus Journal, an official publication of the University. A practitioner-scholar with over 20 years of experience, he bridges the gap between law enforcement operations and academic rigour. His research establishes a forward-looking agenda in Techno-Security, investigating the weaponisation of AI (deepfakes, voice cloning), cryptocrime, cyber fraud, and the operational evolution of transnational organised crime syndicates in the Indo-Pacific region. Dr Lin’s expertise is grounded in his tenure as a Senior Police Liaison Officer (Attaché) in Washington, D.C., where he facilitated high-level criminal intelligence sharing and cross-border investigations. He has held various appointments worldwide, including at the University of Glasgow, Ming Chuan University, and the University of Malaya. Holding a PhD from the University of Southern Mississippi, Dr Lin combines advanced research with professional certifications in Cyber Intelligence (McAfee) and Crisis Management (FBI) to build national resilience against hybrid threats and digital-enabled crime.
