Lynda Lawson is a specialist researcher in gemstone value chains at the Centre for Social Responsibility in Mining at the University of Queensland. She has in-depth knowledge of the Thai–Madagascar gemstone trade and has conducted previous field research in Madagascar and Thailand. This research draws on her previous interviews and experience in the Thai gem trade in 2018 to 2019.
