André Almeida e Silva

Chief Transformation Officer, INTERPOL

André Almeida e Silva has built  a career at the intersection of public security, international partnerships, and organizational transformation. He began as a senior police officer with the Portuguese Police, serving in operational and leadership positions, including the Intelligence Department, contributing to strategic intelligence and supporting national‑level security decisions.

His  first tenure at INTERPOL expanded  his responsibilities across several global security domains. He  initially contributed to the safety and security framework for major international events,  before moving on to lead the Organization’s Smuggling of Migrants and Human Trafficking Unit. In this role, André coordinated multinational operations, strengthened global criminal intelligence capabilities, and supported member countries in addressing complex transnational crime. He  subsequently served as Acting Assistant Director for Vulnerable Communities, overseeing multidisciplinary programmes designed to protect communities and improve international coordination among police agencies.

After this experience, André  transitioned to the private sector as Airbnb’s Global Trust Partnerships Manager, driving large‑scale public–private cooperation initiatives and developing innovative security solutions. In parallel, he served on the Human Dignity Foundation Board of Directors. In 2025, he returned to INTERPOL as Chief Transformation Officer, guiding transformative change to enhance the organization efficiency and effectiveness.
