Dr. Olena Shostko is a criminologist specializing in the field of countering organized crime and corruption in Ukraine. She has more than 28 years of teaching experience at Yaroslav Mudrii National Law University, (Kharkiv) and was a Fulbright Academic Exchange Program Fellow in 2013/2014 at TraCCC (George Mason University, USA) on anti-corruption issues.
Olena is an author and a co-author of more than 170 publications including the monograph “Counteracting Organized Crime in European Countries” (2009). From 2007 to 2014, she was the Head of the Sector for Study of International Cooperation in the Fight against Crime at the Academic Stashis Scientific Research Institute for the Study of Crime Problems.
From 2011 to 2021, Olena was a national correspondent from Ukraine in the European Sourcebook of Crime and Criminal Justice Statistics. She is a member of the European Society of Criminology (ESC).
Since 2014, she serves as the chairperson of the NGO “Ukrainian League of Lawyers for Combating Corruption” and since June 2021, she is the Head of the Board of the think tank “Ukrainian Center of Legal Studies”.
