Louise is based in Bangkok, Thailand and oversees work across East Asia, South East Asia and the Pacific. Louise focuses on driving forward analysis and collaboration on organised crime threats across the respective regions and understanding linkages between them and other Observatories’ work across GI-TOC. She is especially focused on addressing local vulnerabilities that cause harm and is dedicated to supporting civil society to develop and also thrive in multi-sectoral stakeholder settings. Louise strongly appreciates the value of local perspectives and solutions and is dedicated to networking and sharing contributions and supporting constructive challenge.
Before joining GI-TOC, Louise Taylor was Head of the UK Government’s flagship global Serious and Organised Crime network (SOCnet) and prior to that was responsible for developing the UK Foreign and Commonwealth’s Office’s approach to tackling serious and organised crime across its global network. Perhaps as a result Louise is also keen to make better linkages between research, analysis and policy-making – supporting governments to innovate and design more effective responses to organised crime. Louise Taylor has an MA(Hons) in Social Anthropology and Development from the University of Edinburgh, speaks Albanian and Spanish and is working on her Thai!
