Dr. Mishra is an IPS officer of AGMUT Cadre from the 2002 batch. With more than 35 years in service, he has evolved to become an investigator, effective strategist, and a tactful law and order handler. His unparalleled operational expertise and professional acumen gained him a reputation as an effective planner and executor of mega security arrangements.
His book ‘Policing Delhi: Urbanization, Crime and Law Enforcement’ published by Oxford University Press is a textbook, which helps in understanding the policing challenges in a metropolitan city. The second book ‘Watch Out: A Handbook for Safe Living’ that he authored, has been translated in four Indian languages i.e., Hindi, English, Konkani, and Punjabi. Dr. Mishra has written many articles in a variety of journals, which includes chapters in several edited books. His areas of specialization include planning and execution of mega security events; managing major law and order arrangements; community, predictive and evidence-based policing; correctional and prison reforms; disaster management and urban violence and metropolitan policing, to name a few.
