Anna Arutunyan is the associate director of Mayak Intelligence, based in Moscow until February 2022 and now in the UK. Her work has appeared in the European Council on Foreign Relations, Foreign Affairs, The Spectator, and Jane’s Intelligence Review, and she is the author of four books on Russia, including The Putin Mystique (2014) and Hybrid Warriors: Proxies, Freelancers and Moscow’s Struggle for Ukraine (2022). Anna is a global fellow of the Kennan Institute and has worked as an analyst for International Crisis Group, as a correspondent for USA Today and as the news editor at the Moscow News.
