Demian Mikejevs Calca

Demian Mikejevs Calca is a Brazilian specialist in environmental crimes and wildlife trafficking, with longstanding experience analysing criminal markets, illicit supply chains, and cyber‑enabled environmental offences. His work focuses on identifying trafficking networks, understanding the digital dimensions of environmental crime, and strengthening coordinated international responses to illicit wildlife markets. He holds a Bachelor of Law (University of São Paulo) and a Bachelor of Biological Sciences (University of Brasília), along with postgraduate specialisations in Environmental Crimes (University Center of the Guardia Civil of Spain – CUGC), Geographic Information Science and Systems (NOVA University Lisbon), and Geospatial Intelligence (USGIF). A frequent speaker and instructor, he has contributed to international conferences, training programmes, and academic publications on wildlife crime, OSINT, and transnational organised environmental crime. Since 2009, he has worked as an instructor and course developer in Environmental Policing at the Brazilian National Police Academy. He currently serves as the Vice‑Chair of the INTERPOL Wildlife Crime Working Group (2024–2026).
