Visiting Expert on Transnational Crime, US Institute of Peace
Jacob Sims has led various efforts to combat human rights, transnational crime, and development challenges for the last 15 years.
He currently serves as Visiting Expert on Transnational Crime at the US Institute of Peace and is a founding partner of #OperationShamrock, the world’s largest movement dedicated to disrupting the global pig butchering epidemic. Sims is frequently drawn upon for expert commentary, his analysis featuring recently in reports from various UN agencies, the US Department of State, The New York Times, The Economist, The Guardian, LA Times, Al Jazeera, VICE World News, Sydney Morning Herald, and many others.
In his last role, Sims served as Senior Technical Advisor for International Justice Mission, spearheading organizational strategy to combat the global epidemic of trafficking for forced criminal activity. Previously, he led labor rights work in Cambodia; directed policy research and taught courses at the College of William & Mary; and conducted human rights reporting in northern Myanmar.
