Melina holds a PhD and a master’s degree in Public Administration and Government from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) and is the co-author of the book “Segurança Pública para Virar o Jogo”. She is currently the Research Director at the Igarapé Institute and adviser to several civil society organizations. She researches different topics on the public agenda, including public security, environmental crimes, cities, governance and digital rights. Melina has served on different national public policy councils and has been a consultant to the IADB and CAF.
