Maurício Vieira is currently Assistant Professor and Chair on Countering Illicit Trade and Preventing Transnational Organized Crime at the University for Peace. He holds a PhD in International Politics and Conflict Resolution from the University of Coimbra (Portugal), a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Coimbra (Portugal) and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the Universidade de Fortaleza (Brazil). In addition to his current position, he is an Associate Researcher at the Observatory of Nationalities, associated with the Ceará State University and at the Laboratory for the Study of Conflict and Violence of the same university.
