Dr. Arzt is CEO of Priva Data – an expert firm in security & data. Sigrid is a former national commissioner at the Instituto Federal de Acceso a la Información y Protección de Datos (IFAI) from 2009-2014.
Further, she is the first woman appointed as Technical Secretary at the National Security Council under President Felipe Calderón (2006-2009). She acted as a consultant to the Inter-American Development Bank (BID) in a project with the Ministry of Energy (SENER) to identify the political and social challenges to implement renewable energy investment projects. Also, she worked in the past with World Bank on public safety and crime prevention.
Dr. Arzt has taught at the Centro de Estudios del Ejército y Fuerza Aérea (CEEFA) and Centro de Estudios Superiores Navales (CESNAV), as well as, the prominent universities of Ibero, Escuela Libre de Derecho, CIDE and ITAM. Dr. Arzt has done two tours as visiting researcher at the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington, D.C., and one at the University of California San Diego for the Pacific Scholarship Award at the U.S.-Mexico Studies Center.
Dr. Arzt has a PhD in International Relations from University of Miami, FL. Her dissertation thesis was on the Mexican Armed Forces and Mexico´s democracy. She also has a master´s degree in International Relations from Notre Dame University, IN and a Bachelor´s degree from Universidad Iberoamerica in Mexico city.
