Moses Atogo Unongu is a Professional Human Trafficking Investigator and Certified Law Enforcement Instructor who works with the National Agency for the Prohibition of trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), at the Agency’s Headquarters, Abuja, Nigeria. He has worked as a Law Enforcement Officer for almost 15 years, starting in 2007 during which, he investigated over 50 cases of Human Trafficking with over 20 convictions. In 2012, he was transferred to the Training & Manpower Development Department where he was saddled with the responsibilities of building the capacities of newly recruited officers on Best Practices in the Investigation of Human trafficking cases.
As a Certified Trainer and Facilitator, he coordinates his team and actively participates training needs assessment, training curriculum design, training delivery, and evaluation of training programmes in NAPTIP. He has authored five books on Human trafficking. He holds a First Degree in Statistics, a Post Graduate Diploma in Criminology and Security Studies, and a Masters’ Degree in Law Enforcement & Criminal Justice. Moses Atogo Unongu is a registered Member of the International Association of Human Trafficking Investigators (IAHTI), as well as Member of the Security Institute of United Kingdom.
He has been privileged to attend trainings at reputable Training Institutions such as the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centre Glynco, Georgia, USA; International Law Enforcement Academy Gaborone, Botswana; West Africa Regional Training Centre Accra, Ghana; Scuola Di Polizia Brescia, Northern Italy; among other Law enforcement Academies.
