Gonzalo Croci holds a PhD in Security and Crime Sciences from UCL (University College London), a Masters in Latin American Studies from Oxford University and a Masters in Public Policy from the Hertie School. He is an associate professor at Universidad ORT Uruguay, visiting professor at the Hertie School in Berlin and senior fellow at the Center for Latin American Studies on Insecurity and Violence (CELIV) in Buenos Aires. His research focuses on understanding the dynamics of organized crime and illegal markets, and on improving the design and implementation of public security policies. He is also a regular consultant on organized crime for several organizations, such as the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Mayor of London’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC), the Global Initiative against Transnational Organized Crime (GI-TOC), among others.
