Dr. Chamila Liyanage is a specialist in terrorism and political violence as well as a researcher who works on the nexus of transnational organised crime and authoritarianism. She is a research contributor to the Global Network on Extremism and Technology (GNET), hosted by the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation (ICSR) at King’s College, London, member of the Strategic Hub for Organised Crime (SHOC) Research Network of the Royal United Services Institute, London, member of the Standing Group on Organised Crime (SGOC) of the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR), and a fellow of the Far Right Analysis Network (FRAN).
She has published her research on CARR Insight, The Informer, GNET Insights, Vox-Pol, OpenDemocracy, and Fair Observer. Her research appeared in the chapters of the edited volumes published by Ibidem Verlag, Columbia University Press, and Praeger Security International. She was quoted in HuffPost US, TRT World Magazine, The Guardian, and Open Italy. She is also a Public Member of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
