Godfrey Chilabi

Assistant Public Relations Officer, Zambia Police Service

Senior Superintendent Godfrey Chilabi serves as the Assistant Public Relations Officer for the Zambia Police Service. With a 26-year track record in law enforcement, he has held diverse roles including Crime Prevention and Analyst, Victim Support Officer, Senior Community Safety and Security Officer, and his current position as Assistant Relations Officer. His extensive expertise spans key areas such as Police Reforms, Crime Prevention and Investigations, community-oriented policing, and training.

As a certified trainer of trainers within the Zambia Police Service, he specializes in instructing law enforcement officers in investigating cases related to counter-trafficking, and smuggling of migrants, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence. Other areas include Protection of persons of concern in irregular and mixed migration, Integrated Border Management Systems, Crime Prevention Strategies, and electoral security.

Senior Superintendent Chilabi actively participated in the technical working group, notably on Mixed Migration that led to the creation of Training manuals and Participants’ Handbooks on the Protection assistance for Vulnerable Migrants in Zambia, courtesy of the International Organization for Migration (IOM)-Zambia. Additionally, he played a crucial role and participated in developing various training manuals and handbooks on Human trafficking in Zambia.

In addition to possessing various qualifications from law enforcement in-service training, Senior Superintendent Chilabi holds a Bachelor of Education Degree and a Diploma in Social Sciences from the University of Zambia.
