Irene Hirzel is a certified counselor in psychology, trauma and crisis intervention and a trained supervisor and coach. She has over 26 years of experience in the field of human trafficking and proven skills in consulting, training, education and public speaking.

Irene founded the ACT212 Consulting and Training Center against Human trafficking and Sexual exploitation in 2014. She is member of the National Expert Group against Human Trafficking (NEGEM) in Switzerland. Irene was also a member of the Bilateral Working Group against Human Trafficking CH/RO for six years.

Prior to this, she was a Project Manager against Trafficking in Women and Children in Eastern Europe and Asia, setting up and evaluating projects in cooperation with local partners.
