Ana Castro

Coordinator for Central America, Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime

Ana has joined the GI since January 2019. She is a lawyer with a Master’s in Constitutional Law. She has over thirteen years of professional experience working on transparency and anti-corruption issues, access to public information, and human rights. She has worked in the international cooperation sector (USAID funded Projects, GIZ) and NGOs (Transparency International Chapter Acción Ciudadana) as well as in government agencies (Presidential Commission for Transparency and E-Government). Ana has regional knowledge of Central American anti-corruption legislation and access to public information, as well as the inter-American and global anti-corruption conventions.

She is interested in the design, implementation and evaluation of andragogic training processes. She is committed to strengthening democracy and a practitioner of the fight against corruption and organized crime.
