Following on from the success of last year’s #OC24 conference, we are pleased to announce a call for applications to present at the 2021 edition held on 1-2 December 2021.
2020 marked the start of a global pandemic and the world’s first 24-hour virtual conference on global organized crime, #OC24. The conference brought together scholars and practitioners from all over the world at a scale and in a way that a physical conference cannot.
With five innovative session formats, #OC24 attracted more than 3,000 participants worldwide. Over the course of 24 hours (on 10-11 November 2020), 240+ leading organized crime scholars and practitioners from over 45 countries discussed and presented a diverse range of topics, including environmental crime, migrant smuggling, human trafficking, the illicit antiquities trade, drug trafficking and the impact of emerging technologies on organized crime.
A supportive Secretariat team of over 120 students, early-career academics and researchers from leading organized crime universities worldwide also contributed to the conference’s success.
The 2021 edition of OC24 will continue with the five innovative session formats, presenting the latest work and research on organized crime.
