On May 15 we held a live Q&A on the challenges posed by online markets to the fight against the illegal wildlife trade. We talked about trends in online trade, the debates around regulation of tech giants and the markets they host, and the challenges posed to journalists and researchers trying to understand these things. We also talked solutions – fielding questions on the ‘Dynamic Data Discovery Engine’ a tool we’ve been building to help find illicit sales online, and talking about the punch that journalists can deliver as we explore some stories in our ‘Media Matters’ online map.
