Olga Biegus is an Environmental Crime and Policy specialist, currently serving as the Programme Manager at the Universal Ranger Support Alliance (URSA). She has over 5 years of experience in conservation research and policy development and more than 13 years in international grant and program management, supporting conservation organizations in developing effective projects and programs for improved results.
Over the last five years, she has been actively involved in initiatives relating to illegal wildlife trade and environmental wildlife crime through work with internal WWF CITES and the UNCAC Coalition’s Environmental Crime and Corruption working groups. Olga is also a member of the IUCN WCPA and IUCN CEESP, focusing on law enforcement and capacity building in conservation for improved management of protected and conserved areas.
Her commitment is further showcased through her contributions to numerous publications, including GI-TOC Africa and Global TOC‚ AI indexes, as well as articles discussing policy and governance changes required to effectively tackle illegal wildlife trade and the broader challenge of environmental crime.
