Senior Analyst, Global Initiative against Transnational Organized Crime
Sarah Fares is a Senior Analyst at the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime, working with the Observatory of Organized Crime in Europe. She focuses on Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) to investigate criminal networks and illicit markets in digital environments, including the monitoring of Europe’s online drug trade and criminal activity on the dark web. She also serves as the Europe Regional Coordinator for the Global Organized Crime Index.
Before joining GI-TOC in 2021, Sarah worked with various governmental institutions and NGOs across the Middle East and Western Europe, contributing to programmes addressing conflict, human rights and human security. She holds an Honours Bachelor’s degree specialising in International Relations from the University of Amsterdam and a Master’s degree focusing on Global Security from the Geneva Graduate Institute.
