Analyst, Global Initiative against Transnational Organized Crime
Sarah joined the Global Initiative against Transnational Organized Crime in October 2021, and currently works as an Analyst with a regional focus on the Middle East. Her primary areas of work include the political economy of drugs and other illicit markets, criminal violence, and illicit financial flows. She also contributes to projects that assess organised crime risks in the Netherlands. Prior to her role at GI-TOC, Sarah was engaged in supportive positions in various governmental organisations and NGOs headquartered in Geneva and Ramallah, where she addressed contemporary security challenges through the lens of human security. Her experience also includes civil society liaison and human rights advocacy. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree specialising in International Relations from the University of Amsterdam and a Master’s Degree in International Affairs from the Graduate Institute in Geneva. Sarah is based in Amsterdam.
