Analyst, Global Initiative against Transnational Organized Crime
Sarah Fares is an Analyst at the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime (GI-TOC), where she works with the Observatory of Organized Crime in Europe. With a focus on Open Source Intelligence (OSINT), she conducts digital investigations and data-driven analyses on drug markets and other illicit economies, including dark web monitoring. She also serves as the Europe Regional Coordinator for the Global Organized Crime Index.
Before joining GI-TOC in 2021, Sarah worked with governmental institutions and NGOs across the Middle East and Western Europe, contributing to programmes addressing instability, human rights and human security. She holds an Honours Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Amsterdam, and a Master’s degree with a specialisation in Global Security from the Geneva Graduate Institute.
