Markéta Swiacká joined GI-TOC in 2025 and is a member of the ECO-SOLVE team, the organization’s flagship environmental crime project, where her work focuses on uncovering environmental crime and promoting ethical, community-based conservation.
She holds an MSc in Wildlife Management in Tropics and Subtropics and is currently pursuing a PhD in Applied and Landscape Ecology at the Czech University of Life Sciences, exploring local perceptions of pangolins in the Congo Basin. Previously, she worked as a project manager and researcher in biodiversity conservation and social sciences, contributing to initiatives connecting ecology, sustainability, and human–nature relationships.
