Annette Hübschle

Joyce Kimani worked as an advocacy, communication and research fellow at DefendDefenders in Kampala. She has served in the communication office of Kenya Markets Trust (KMT) where her role included observing the trends in the livestock, seed and water markets. In addition, she served at Journalist for Human Rights (JHR) based in Juba, South Sudan as a media trainer attached to Juba Monitor and later the Voice Magazine.
Her journalism work spans from deep investigative features, and soft news for The Mail and Guardian, Daily Maverick and Power FM based in South Africa. As an adherent feature writer, Ms. Kimani wrote for The Star Newspaper and The Nation Media Group Newspapers Daily Nation, Taifa Leo, and Business Daily.
Ms Kimani has a degree in Mass Communication from Makerere University in Kampala. She has undertaken various courses from Thomson Reuters Reporting illicit finance program and Reporting on Transnational Organized Crime.
Her work has been nominated for various awards including the ZIMEO Excellence in Media Awards and The Energy Reporting Award in Kenya. She is the current Vice President for Kenya Correspondents Association (KCA).
