Dr. Jade Lindley is a criminologist and senior lecturer at The University of Western Australia Law School and Oceans Institute. Her research focuses on various transnational crimes and their intersection with international law. Jade is particularly interested in the criminal motivations to conduct transnational crimes, particularly in the environmental crime and maritime security space, and international responses to control these crimes. Among Jade’s previous roles include an internship at the United Nations Headquarters in New York; fellowship at the International Maritime Organization in London; Visiting Scholar position at the Institute of Criminology at the University of Cambridge; and research roles at the Australian Institute of Criminology and the Western Australia Corruption and Crime Commission. Jade is an alumni of the US Department of State International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP) on maritime security within the Indian Ocean region.
