Brian Donald was engaged in law enforcement for over 40 years. Following police service in Scotland he was then employed internationally, first for the UK’s National Criminal Intelligence Service and Serious Organised Crime Agency and thereafter for Europol where he served as head of the UK Liaison Bureau and, latterly, as Chief of Staff.

During his 12 years at Europol he oversaw the growth of the organisation as it expanded into new areas in response to EU and global demands. In his role he supported Directorate in both defining the strategic direction of the agency and in ensuring delivery of that strategy. In that respect he worked across the whole agency and sustained a network of key relationships across the Member States of the EU, associated third countries and key institutional players both at the EU and national level.
