Benedikt Strunz is an investigative journalist and researcher. His work has focused on cocaine trafficking and smuggling, (cash) money laundering, tax evasion, sanctions violations, hawala banking, high-level corruption, methamphetamine production, environmental crime, and the crime-terror nexus, particularly involving Hezbollah. He has reported extensively on German, Albanian, Dutch, Mexican, Lebanese, and Balkan organized crime groups, conducting field investigations in Romania, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Benin, Lebanon, Israel, and other countries. Strunz has contributed to numerous international investigative collaborations, including The Cartel Project, the Panama Papers, the Paradise Papers, and Deforestation Inc. His work has earned him multiple national and international awards for excellence in investigative journalism.
