Throughout GI-TOC’s decade of analyzing and responding to transnational organized crime, the fundamental importance of corruption as a driver and enabler of organized crime has always been clear. However, the links between organized crime and corruption are diverse and multifaceted, and although complex, they are recognized within the existing normative framework that governs the international responses to organized crime and corruption – the UNCAC and the UNTOC.
Our engagement at the COSP will focus on enhancing understanding of the links between organized crime and corruption and the harms that are caused, as well as encouraging a more strategic and coordinated response, including through the implementation of the UNCAC and UNTOC.
GI-TOC will participate in the 10th Conference of States Parties to the UN Convention against Corruption, through the following events at the Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta.
