Dr. Pía Greene is a journalist and holds a PhD in Political Science. She has a Master’s degree in Politics from Spain, a diploma in Leadership and another in Criminology. She previously served as Head of the Research Division at the Ministry of Interior and Public Security, and is currently the Executive Director of the Amparo y Justicia Foundation, an NGO that works with families whose children have been victims of sexual homicide.
Dr. Greene is a university lecturer in public policy and organized crime, and serves on various expert advisory boards at both the national and international levels. She has more than 20 years of experience in the design, implementation, and evaluation of public policies, as well as in project management, coordination and multidisciplinary teams leadership. In the public sector, she led national-level strategies on crime prevention, criminal analysis, inter-institutional coordination, and budget management. From academia, she has conducted research and policy analysis on security and crime.
Dr. Greene currently works directly with families affected by serious crimes, while also engaging in public policy advocacy to help prevent such cases from happening again.
