Cecilia Oliveira is the Executive Director of Instituto Fogo Cruzado, a data journalism organization that tracks armed violence in metropolitan areas around Brazil. She is an investigative journalist who focuses on drugs and arms trafficking and violence.

Cecilia is a co-founder of The Intercept Brasil and Director of the Brazilian Association for Investigative Journalism (Abraji). She was a finalist for Reporters Without Borders’ 2020 Press Award for Impact which celebrates intrepid and courageous voices in global media. Cecilia is part of the Security Sector Reform (SSR) Advisory Network to the United Nations and sits on the boards of ISER – Instituto de Estudos da Religião, Agência Pública and Data Privacy Brasil.
