Before joining the GI, Diego served as a Communications Officer for Asia and the Americas at the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Geneva (Switzerland). He has also worked with UNHCR, Hivos, local media outlets and NGOs in the Americas and Costa Rica. He holds an MA in International Journalism from the University of Sussex (UK) and an MSc in Communication and Development from the University of Costa Rica. He is fluent in Spanish, English and Portuguese and has intermediate knowledge of Italian and French.
