Ko-lin Chin

Distinguished Professor, School of Criminal Justice, Rutgers University

Ko-lin Chin is Distinguished Professor, School of Criminal Justice at Rutgers University-Newark. He received his Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania. He has written extensively on issues related to Chinese crime groups and networks, including gangs and tongs, human smuggling organizations, organized crime in Taiwan, drug producing and trafficking groups, and sex trafficking networks.

Dr. Chin has received funding from the National Science Foundation, the National Institute of Justice, as well as two Fulbright Scholarships for his work on transnational organized crime. He is currently conducting a research project on the counterfeiting of name-brand luxury goods in China.
