Executive Director, Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police Secretariat
Nicholas (Nic) Brown commenced his role as the Executive Director of Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police Secretariat (PICP-S) in 2022 after 28 years in the New Zealand Police being appointed to the rank of Superintendent.
He has undertaken various roles including the Frontline, Training, Intelligence, Road Policing and National Operations. He has worked closely with the New Zealand Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, New Zealand Defence Force, and the National Emergency Management Agency to name just a few and was seconded to the Department of Internal Affairs for Operation Tuia, a commemoration in 2019 marking 250 years since the first onshore encounters between Māori and Pākehā in 1769. He has also worked on internationally significant events such as the 2011 Rugby World Cup and Gallipoli Commemorations in Türkiye.
Executive Director Superintendent Brown has a Master of Public Management and is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the New Zealand Institute of Public Administration and the New Zealand Institute of Directors.
