Gonzalo Croci

Gonzalo holds a Ph.D. from the Jill Dando Institute for Security and Crime Science – UCL, a Master in Latin American studies from the University of Oxford and a Master on Public Policy from the Hertie School of GovernanceHe teaches at Universidad ORT Uruguay and at the Hertie School of Governance and is a senior fellow at Centre for Latin American Studies on Insecurity and Violence (CELIV) in Buenos Aires. Gonzalo currently consults for UCL and the London Drug Commission (within the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime – MOPAC) on the impact of legalization of cannabis on the criminal justice system and organized crime in London. His research focuses on the criminal justice system (in particular the effectiveness of the police and the prison system), organized crime, crime, drug policy, corruption and policy design. Gonzalo has worked with several organizations including the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), the DCAF – Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance and the IOM.
