At a High-Level Meeting of the UN Economic and Social Council Ad Hoc Advisory Group on Haiti that took place in New York on 23 September, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada highlighted his country’s support for efforts to restore democracy, security, and stability in Haiti. He referred to a four-million-dollar project designed to reduce gang violence and to support the GI-TOC Observatory of Violence and Resilience in Haiti.

The GI-TOC Observatory of Violence and Resilience in Haiti (HT-Obs) serves as a fundamental forum for research and analysis, civil society empowerment, capacity building, and direct support for multilateral actors. These overlapping spheres of work will provide a complementary approach critical for national and international efforts, thereby ensuring the sustainability of solutions undertaken to resolve the Haitian crisis.
