This discussion – in partnership with Northumbria University and the Global Initiative to End Wildlife Crime – will feature high-level wildlife crime experts from different regions and backgrounds, and explore the benefits of an additional Protocol on illicit wildlife trafficking under the United Nations Convention on Transnational Organized Crime (UNTOC).
Researching and understanding environmental crimes, and exploring options for how to better address these forms of TOC are a high priority for the GI-TOC.
This discussion will allow civil society, academia, government officials and other experts to come together to consider how the current international legal framework could be updated or improved.
The event will be in person in Vienna, and streamed live on youtube on this page. For details on how to register to attend the in-person event please contact tanya.wyatt@northumbria.ac.uk
