On the occasion of the 28th UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ)
The Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime is delighted to invite you to attend the official launch of the Resilience Fund in Vienna, Austria at a high-level panel discussion and cocktail reception.
The newly-created Resilience Fund aims to counter the impacts of organized crime worldwide by supporting civil society and non-state actors who operate in environments of criminal governance. In a number of places around the globe, civil society actors have become crucial in the fight against organized crime, and the personal risks that they take are significant.
The Fund, generously supported by the Government of Norway, will support:
- Counter-crime advocates: activists speaking out against the injustices perpetrated by organized crime and building peace.
- Independent investigative journalists: journalists and local media houses reporting on organized crime.
- Community resilience initiatives: community groups such as youth, women’s and religious groups which support those made vulnerable by organized crime.
The panel will include senior representatives from the Global Initiative and civil society experts building resilience against organized crime around the globe.
The panel will be followed a cocktail reception for CCPCJ delegations, civil society partners and others in attendance.RSVP – please confirm your attendance to Mr. Ian Tennant at ian.tennant@globalinitiative.net or register at this link.
