In November 2025, GI-TOC’s 2025 Global Organized Crime Index was released. For a third iteration in a row, organized crime continues to rise globally, while resilience continues to stagnate. The Mekong region is no exception and has some of the most difficult challenges globally. Join us at this webinar on 1 December to find out why!

This webinar will take a deep dive into the results for the Mekong region and provide insights into recent trends and developments of three particularly notorious criminal markets: drug trafficking, financial crimes, and human trafficking. This webinar will combine the Global Organized Crime Index findings with perspectives from the ground and the region to examine how regional dynamics compare with global trends, what drives criminality in the Mekong, and why responses are not working. Participants will be able to ask questions and challenge our findings.

Our South East Asia Coordinator, Alastair MacBeath, will guide you through the Organized Crime Index – an innovative, online tool which provides data for all 193 UN member states. We will show you how to navigate it, let you explore the data for yourself, and offer the opportunity to engage with regional experts in drugs (Patrick Winn), financial crime (BC Tan), and human trafficking (Itsaraporn Daoram).
