Giulia Roncon

Environmental Crime Analyst, Global Initiative against Transnational Organized Crime

Giulia is a full time analyst at the GI-TOC as of January 2022. She is part of the Market Monitoring and Friction Unit (MMFU) working on the illicit trade of endangered wildlife species.
Giulia holds a Master in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Padova (IT), as well as a PhD in Ecology and Biodiversity from the University of Tasmania (AU).
She is a fully trained veterinarian with experience in wildlife husbandry.
Her last year projects with GI-TOC included mapping illegal breeding facilities in Southeast Asia and online illicit bird trade in Africa and Europe.
