Human smugglers have proven to be the transportation system that underpins irregular movement, but it remains a phenomenon that is understudied and poorly understood, particularly by migration practitioners. The GI is working to shed light on human smuggling, to document contemporary cases, map the modus operandi of smuggling, catalyse and convene debates, and bring forward an integrated response framework.
