BIOGRAPHY

Geoffrey Gruson is the Executive Director of the Canadian Police Sector Council (PSC) – national strategic planning and management – addressing the long-term sustainability of policing

January of 2005 – initiated the PSC – Board of Directors includes chiefs of police, police Boards, union/associations, provincial and federal governments, and major education and training institutes

August 2000 – September 2005 – Assistant Commissioner, RCMP responsible for Strategic Direction, Policy and Planning – strategic and business planning transformation

Over 28 years experience in strategic planning and performance management – in both the public and private sectors – IBM, Health and Welfare Canada, Citizen and Immigration, Human Resource Development Canada, Customs and Excise, and PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting – focusing on:

  • modern management frameworks – strategy-focused management, performance measurement and management, and organizational change “readiness”
  • Balanced Scorecard strategic management tools and methodologies for public sector organizations

Recipient of the Balanced Scorecard Collaborative Hall of Fame award for RCMP strategic planning/management implementation

Recipient of the Queen’s “Diamond Jubilee Medal” in recognition of contribution to Canadian policing
